I love an excuse to dress up and thankfully the holidays provide plenty of them. I spend hours mulling over the perfect Christmas dress and start looking as far ahead as July. Hey, you want to be your most presentable for Jesus' birthday, right? I think this darling Elizabeth McKay dress makes the cut because there's nothing I hate more than being stuck in a sleeveless dress in the dead of winter (I don't do cold). I know, I know... it's been far too long! But you know how the holiday season is and it's a busy one for sure. Fear not though because I'm back and today bringing you some festive cheer with gifts under $50. If you're like me then your gift giving goes something like this, one for them and one for me (oops). With this list under $50 it makes total sense give yourself a little pressie too. You deserve it!

Ah the bootie, the hybrid of a pump and a boot. Basically my shoe of choice every fall as they are just as easy to dress up as they are down. I did some shopping at Bloomingdales this weekend (darn sales get me every time) and picked up these by Tory Burch but I think they need a friend. Don't you?

• Now on my bookshelf: The Style Bible by Lauren A. Rothman of Styleauteur. After hearing her speak at Barnes & Noble Tyson Corner I can't wait to add more of her style tricks to our list. 
• Move over Pinterest, watch out Gilt. I'm racking up clothes in my virtual closet and tracking sales with RackItUp. I can't decide if the two chic entrepreneurs behind it are helping or hurting my shopaholic tendencies. 
• Even though I'm not a mom, nor anywhere close to being one (wait...do furbabies count?) I picked up the first ever edition of Washingtonian MOMs Magazine and love the editorial layouts and the inspiring women featured.

Last week I posted a picture on my Facebook wall of an orange door, considering the option for my own. Let's just say the crowd went wild! While I didn't have enough courage for a year round #PSL door my obsession for the color hasn't faltered.
