I live in tunics during the summer. They make for the perfect transition from poolside lounging to dinner. I just discovered Sail to Sable's pieces and love their color combinations and variations of classic styles. If this one wasn't made for celebrating the 4th in I don't know what was. Pure perfection.

Blogging Buds

Julia is a girl after my own heart, with a blog name like Lemon Stripes you know she's not afraid of color or pattern. I've "stalked" her blog for quite some time, but when I saw she launched her online boutique a few weeks ago I knew I had to get to know her and now you can too!

Why did you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging in 2010 to share recipes and outfit ideas with my friends and family. People kept asking me for advice so I figured I'd put it out there and see what happened.

How did you choose the name for your blog?

I love cooking with lemons and I wear stripes almost every single day. It was sort of a no brainer. :)

What motivates you to keep blogging?

I quit my job last March to open my online boutique. My blog is a marketing tool for the store so at this point, I'm stuck with it! I also love connecting with my followers and it's great to get perks like lots of free clothes! 

Congrats on your store, we love it here! What are some qualities you believe a blogger needs to possess?

Authenticity is number one. You have to be able to be yourself confidently and not try to copy other bloggers. You also have to have the drive to stick with it and post regularly. It's easy to give up but readers expect posts so I think of it as my job and make sure it gets done.

What do you consider your greatest success?

Opening my store. It was terrifying leaving a high paying job and investing a lot of money into a business that I knew virtually nothing about. But now I'm so happy I did it.

What's your social media outlet of choice?

I'm Insta-obsessed. I love being able to document my life in NYC through my iPhone. It's easy to use and my followers are able to really feel a connection to me personally there!

Intern Erin- Sunshine State Stylin'

After spending a relaxing week in Florida my mind was set in beach mode! I found that having a fabulous fun colored swimsuit is a must have. With the bright sun you can't go wrong with a pair of fashionable sunglasses! My favorite pair has to be my aviators! They come in so many shapes, sizes and colors how can you not love them! 

To finish off my beach style essentials I always brought a floppy sun hat, which comes in handy when reading fashions magazines! Don't forget to pack a towel too, I cant get enough of the nautical inspired ones. Summer 2013 I will be sure to hit the beach in Style!

Frugal Finds

A little sparkle and shine never hurt anybody, especially some gold glitz. I can't seem to get enough of anything with a golden hue for everyday. It makes the ordinary feel fancy. Hangers, hair ties, and tech cases never looked so good and gold never was as attainable!

Spot On

A hot pink dress, what's not to love? Especially when it comes in this classic silhouette. I'd wear this pretty little gal everyday if I could (but don't worry, I won't). I like the idea of playing up it's youthful flair with tennis shoes and girlie prints. If I didn't know any better I would've thought these Kate Spade Keds were made for it! The perfect outfit for a casual day around town.

Iconic Style

Growing up in the 90s I adored Princess Diana. After all, she was a real life princess! But now she inspires me beyond that, specifically through her ladylike style. When the rest of the world ran around in belly baring crop tops or grunge inspired flannel, Diana kept it together. She had a title to live up to, people!

Scrolling through Pinterest filled with her images it seems she was ahead of her times in numbers like these. One shoulder stripes with classic pearl earrings, a look I'd certainly be caught in today.

Looking good while on a budget can be a challenge, but I'm up for it! A little bit of accessories, some jewelry and a dash of home decor... you can be a total budget babe for under $50 with these hot {pink} finds.

I originally spotted the lobster iPhone case on Dallas Shaw's Instagram as she shopped locally at Peter Kate and ever since then it's been on my list. Who wouldn't want to chat it up with this little guy? I haven't been to Aldo in years but those sandals with a jolt of pink have me sold. They look way more expensive than $30!

Queen of the Tribe

I love the whole tribal trend but nowadays there are so many tribal prints out there it tends to be a bit overkill. Instead I try to wear the trend in a less obvious way, through deep saturated colors and edgy jewelry (literally, that necklace has spikes on it). Less storybook, more everyday.

And those shoes... what girl wouldn't get all safari on us and kill for those Tribute sandals? Need them. 

Loafin Around

Flat lovers and old men rejoice because loafers are hot this season. They're not just your average leather penny loafers though, this season they're full of prints and cheeky designs. I'm dying to get my feet in a pair of Hadleigh's but Jon Josef's prices are irresistible!

Fit for a Princess

If it's good enough for a real life princess, then it's good enough for me (but the adorable animal clasps don't hurt either). Wilbur & Gussie clutches are a favorite of Kate Middleton. Their bright colors, classic shape and swarovski encrusted animals clasps are perfect for summer dinners out because no one wants to carry a big tote then, even me.
